No Nuclear = No Net Zero

Since 1987, our goal has remained constant: To promote and support a strong nuclear component within a balanced low-carbon energy policy. The Civil and Defence Nuclear Industries are building momentum, so developing and maintaining a skilled workforce is now the priority for the industry’s future.

We are campaigning for the Government to provide a vision for our industry, commitment to multiple SMRs and a large-scale project in Wylfa so we can attract the best people to work in our sector and show they have a career in our industry for decades to come.

Our industry provides long-term, stable, skilled, well-paid work to people in every nation and region of the UK. Nuclear brings opportunity to young people looking for a job that will let them stay where they grew up.

We see it as our duty to produce the energy the nation needs and to nurture the communities that host nuclear facilities. If we are to have new build, whether that’s small or large scale, if we are to continue to be world leaders in R&D, decommissioning and waste management, we need those skills.

Our No Nuclear = No Net Zero Campaign encompasses our efforts at Party Conference, TUSNE Plenary’s and interactions with the front benches of all political parties.
