November Plenary "Nuclear in North Wales"
13 November 2024
On the 7th and 8th November 2024, TUSNE welcomed lay reps from Unite, Prospect and GMB to Llandudno, Wales, to discuss new nuclear development in North Wales.
The purpose of this Plenary was to build consensus among key stakeholders about what is possible and what is needed for North Wales to achieve its nuclear ambitions.
Jim Mowatt, TUSNE Chairman, led discussions and we were delighted to hear from a host of speakers across the two days:
- Iolo James, Nuclear Industry Association
- Beccy Pleasant, Nuclear Skills Development Director
- Rachael Glaving, EDF
- Sasha Wynn Davies, Wales Nuclear Forum
- Simon Coop, on behalf of Lisa Higgins, North Wales Trade Union Rep
- Liz Saville Roberts, Plaid Cymru MP for Dwyfor Meirionnydd
- Cllr Aled Morris Jones, NDA National Forum Chair
- Alan Rayment, CEO Cwmni Egino
- Nigel Houlton, Great British Nuclear
- Richard James, Welsh Government
Delegates engaged in thoughtful discussion across both days, with all speakers participating in a Q&A, and discussions continued during an evening reception kindly sponsored by EDF, at St George's Hotel in Llandudno.
