TUSNE Vice President, Sue Ferns, Celebrates International Women's Day

14 March 2025

Sue Ferns, TUSNE Vice President, celebrated International Women's Day.

Sue commented "The UK’s civil nuclear sector employs over 87,000 people in a range of well-paid, skilled roles. Many of these workers are women.

This International Women's Day, I want to acknowledge the contribution that women have made to the nuclear industry for many decades but also to be clear that women must play an even bigger role in the period ahead. The government’s plans for net zero must create thousands of good, new jobs across the UK. Women of all ages and backgrounds will have a critical impact across every part of the nuclear sector and its supply chain. Their contribution will be key to the success of the industry as it moves forward."
